Qingdao Harboray New Material Technology Co., Ltd. announced that its VCI anti-rust bags/film and VCI anti-rust paper have again passed SGS testing and comply with EU ROHS and REACH standards, ensuring reliable and eco-friendly protection for exported metal products.
Backed by reliable VCI technology and flexible customization, Harboray anti-rust bags, pallet covers and industrial bags have been exported to more than 50 countries, widely used in metal anti-rust packaging for automotive parts, precision electronics and PV materials.
To support green manufacturing, Harboray launched KS-VCI water-based anti-rust concentrate. Biodegradable and nitrite-free, it replaces traditional rust-preventive oils when diluted in different ratios, providing up to 2 years of protection at a lower total cost.
Anti-rust packaging solutions in real scenarios
An automotive parts customer needed sea-freight protection for precision parts such as crankshafts and cylinder blocks. Harboray provided a combined VCI bag + VCI paper solution. After 30 days of shipping and storage, no corrosion was found on opening.
For steel cord, bead wire and PV polysilicon customers, Harboray customized industrial large bags and VCI liner bags to material specifications, providing moisture, dust and rust protection through filling, handling and storage.
For stringent whole-pallet export protection of large equipment, Harboray applied large VCI pallet covers for palletized packaging — no per-piece oiling needed, faster operation, lower cost, and all goods passed inspection on arrival.

VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) vaporizes at normal temperature and pressure, forming a protective gas in sealed spaces. It adsorbs onto metal surfaces as a molecular-thin film, isolating moisture and oxygen to inhibit electrochemical corrosion — without direct contact, ideal for complex-shaped parts.
Depending on product type, thickness and storage conditions, protection typically lasts 6 to 36 months. HR-VCI bags offer up to 36 months, and KS-VCI liquid 6 to 24 months depending on concentration. Better sealing gives longer protection.
