Frequently asked questions about VCI anti-rust packaging

How does VCI anti-rust packaging work?

VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) vaporizes at normal temperature and pressure, forming a protective gas in sealed spaces. It adsorbs onto metal surfaces as a molecular-thin film, isolating moisture and oxygen to inhibit electrochemical corrosion — without direct contact, ideal for complex-shaped parts.

How long is the rust-proof period?

Depending on product type, thickness and storage conditions, protection typically lasts 6 to 36 months. HR-VCI bags offer up to 36 months, and KS-VCI liquid 6 to 24 months depending on concentration. Better sealing gives longer protection.

What certifications do your products have?

Our company is ISO9001 certified; all series pass SGS testing and comply with EU ROHS and REACH standards; VCI anti-rust bags/film conform to US military standard MIL-PRF-22019D.
